What interior design services do you offer?
Shanade McAllister-Fisher Design provides interior design and interior architecture for private residences, residential developments and selected commercial spaces.
Our work can encompass spatial planning, architectural detailing, kitchens and bathrooms, bespoke joinery, lighting, material specification, furniture, art, window treatments, procurement, installation and styling. The scope is tailored to each project and considered as a whole.
What types of interior design projects do you take on?
Our residential work is generally focused on complete properties, substantial renovations and comprehensive furnishing projects rather than individual rooms.
Projects range from London townhouses and apartments to contemporary residences, alongside selected residential developments and commercial spaces. We work on both existing properties requiring architectural and decorative changes and spaces that are principally focused on furnishing, art and styling.
Where do you work?
The studio is based in London and undertakes projects across the city and beyond.
Our portfolio includes projects throughout West, North and Central London, including Notting Hill, Holland Park, Kensington, Chelsea, Maida Vale and Fitzrovia, as well as projects elsewhere in the UK.
Do you work on listed and period properties?
Yes. We have experience working with period and listed properties where the existing architecture, historic details and practical constraints form an important part of the design.
Depending on the project, we can work alongside architects, structural engineers, contractors and other consultants where planning, listed building consent or specialist technical input is required.
What size of project do you typically undertake?
Our residential work is generally focused on complete properties and substantial projects where we can consider the interior as a whole.
This might involve a complete renovation and interior architecture scheme, or the comprehensive furnishing and styling of an existing property. The appropriate scope will depend on the property, the level of work required and how involved you would like the studio to be.
How does the interior design process work?
Every project begins with an initial conversation to understand the property, the scope of work and what you would like to achieve.
From there, the design develops through concept and design development into the detailed specification of finishes, furniture, lighting and other elements required for the project. Where included within our appointment, we can then oversee procurement, coordinate with the wider project team and manage the installation and final styling.

How long does an interior design project take?
Timescales vary considerably depending on the scale and complexity of the project.
A furnishing-led project will generally have a different programme from a complete renovation involving interior architecture, kitchens, bathrooms, bespoke joinery and construction work. Once we understand the scope, we establish a programme for the design stages and work alongside the wider project team to coordinate key dates.
We recommend involving the studio as early as possible, particularly where architectural changes or renovation works are planned.
How do your interior design fees work?
Our design fees are based on the scope, scale and complexity of the project. Following an initial consultation and review of the brief, we provide a detailed fee proposal setting out the services and stages required.
Procurement, installation and other project-specific services are clearly set out within the proposal where applicable, so the extent of our involvement is established from the outset.
Do you manage furniture procurement, installation and styling?
Yes. For full-service projects, we can manage the sourcing and procurement of furniture, lighting, art, window treatments and accessories, including liaison with suppliers and coordination of deliveries.
We can also coordinate the final installation and styling, bringing together furniture, art and objects as the final layer of the interior.
